________ Annual Report These past fourteen months have been a challenge, to say the least. While lives have been put on hold, the volunteers at The Freetown Historical Society have been hard at work. When we once again open our doors, visitors will notice the many changes have taken place. - Tractor Shed – This building has been redesigned as a blacksmith teaching area. Blacksmith classes have become increasingly popular and have taken up our Sellars/Demoranville exhibit with class implements. The redesigned tractor shed will become the class area and the regular shop will become a display and demonstration area. This area will also house our restored shingle mill and power hammer. Both of these items have been restored by William Copeland.
- Barn - Preparation has been made for an addition by replacing sills and shoring up the main floor. This will allow The Museum to have a dedicated display for agricultural exhibits.
- Carriage Shed – An addition has been made to the carriage shed. This will allow storage of tents, clam bake paraphernalia, picnic tables, and various other items.
- Wilson - Rezendes Saw Mill – Doors have been replaced.
- Landscaping – Sharon and Dennis Oliveira have been hard at work maintaining and adding to our garden areas. They have also been instrumental in planning future garden additions.
- Garage – The East Freetown Garage and Fire Station construction is complete! We are currently moving artifacts into it and designing displays.
- Jenkins House & Irene's Kitchen – A kitchen sink has been installed. Kitchen shelves and hand-crafted hardware have been added. Kitchen work tables have been built. A door has been installed to the upper floor. We are now ready to continue wood stove/hearth cooking classes.
- Mason Corner School - A flag pole and plaque have been erected in front of the school. This pole, part of an Eagle Scout Project, is dedicated to all Freetown teachers past and present. Our thanks go out to Nate Cloutier.
- Main Museum – The Clarence Braley Paintings are being restored and rehung. Our thanks go out to Anne Morse for her dedication to this project. Artifacts are finding new homes in other Museum buildings. Displays are being refreshed and redesigned.
- Social Media Presence (Via Facebook/Instagram) – Bethany Enzian has accepted the responsibility for our social media outreach effort. You may have noticed that the consistency and quality of our presence is greatly improved. The feedback we are getting is amazing!
