Annual Meeting & Election of Officers Freetownmuseum@gmail.com The Freetown Historical Society will once again conduct our Annual Meeting via US Mail and Email.  Should you have any questions or recommendations please let us know by May 17, 2024. If do not hear from you the Secretary will cast one vote for The Slate of Officers. Below is the proposed slate.  There are no proposed By-law changes.  The following Slate has been approved by The Board of Directors.   Slate of Officers   Rick Kendrick, President - 1 Year Term William Copeland, Vice President - 1 Year Term Jim Miller, Vice President - 1 Year Term Joy Miller, Treasurer - 1 Year Term Susan Chace, Assistant Treasurer – 1 Year Term Margret Russell, Secretary - 1 Year Term Eric Dodenhoff, Assistant Secretary – 1 Year Term   Betty Ashley, Director - 3 Year Term Roy Jones, Director – 3 Year Term Mark Whittaker, Director - 3 Year Term    Any questions should be directed to Rick Kendrick @ (508) 763-4563 by May 17, 2024.     Annual Report These past twelve months have been very busy one here at The Museum. We are opened by appointment and many visitors have walked through our door.  Many changes continue to take place including;   This past year's events have been very well attended. Including: Our First Annual Art Exhibition Appreciation Day featuring Graystone Rail & Annie's Ice Cream (Our thanks to the Freetown Cultural Council) Once Upon a Generation Annual Open House Car Shows Filming of a short film titled Sweet Freedom. A film about Polly Johnson, a legendary abolitionist.   More and more groups are coming through for tours. Freetown Elementary continues their Annual Field Trips The Jenkins House has become our main office space. Our computer system has been upgraded as well as our WIFI and security system.   Main Museum – The kitchen area is going through an overhaul and will be better able to handle our increasing need for a more usable space.   Funds from The Grimshaw - Gudewicz Foundation, Len & Eleanor Chace, Robert Deane Family, and The Freetown Cultural Council were used to complete these projects and events.   Submitted by;   Richard Kendrick Jr., President Freetown Historical Society For The Board of Directors   Membership dues can be submitted by clicking on https://www.freetownhistoricalsociety.org/general-8 Add your text here.
